Feel Like Makin Love – USP 213

In 1975,  Bad Company had a hit song called Feel Like Making Love.  I wasn’t into the group back then.  I just found them now to be honest and remembered I had heard it before.  It’s funny how your taste changes.

The song has more meaning for me now because it’s not really about sex but the depth of love.  Now I am not just saying that because I am old and that is all I got either.  I still got it, thank you very much!  I dedicate Bones Hooks’ rendition of the song to my wife that he is going to do for us this week.

Zombie Strike starts a new arc with chapter 8 of episode 76.

While the government was considering the ramifications of a shut down I made plans to visit my son at college.  This fatherhood thing is cool.  I get to share my knowledge and experiences amassed through making a boatload of mistakes to my son so he won’t have to duplicate my pains.  It’s good because he listens, loves and appreciates me.

The government proved to be bluffing, and grand standing.  Congress proved to cause more damage than good by it.  I decided to go on.  I packed up my Blackhawk Fire/EMS ops bag for two days and took a train south.  The train (Amtrak) is an interesting mode of transportation.  I have some suggestions for you however if you decide to do it.

You need to know that you will most likely be sitting next to John Q. Public on the train and not have your own space.  He or she will be twice your size or have too much stuff that encroaches on your space to relax.  Make sure you bring a hat and jacket.

After about an hour it gets cooler on the train.  During the summer months that might even be a blessing but right now, it was cold.  Bring a MP3 player, so that you can tune out the conversations, bodily noises and such as you travel.  Don’t forget the power cords for these devices as a long ride will drain the batteries.  There are AC outlets on the train.  If you can really plan for your trip, see if you can get the reserved seating.  It is totally different than coach and maybe called business class.  It is worth the extra $20.

While visiting my son, I learned about an event he attended last week called Action Fest.  It is a new action/stunt movie fan event that takes place in Asheville, NC.  Last year Chuck Norris was the feature.  This year my son’s movie hero, Michael Jai White the star of Spawn, (also in Universal Soldier, Blood and Bone, and Tyler Perry movies).  I hope to present some cool new info about Actionfest.com to you soon.

I have a couple of side notes:

I am now in the process of the ten day waiting period for my Glock 22 lower receiver from Lone Wolf Distributors.  It was sent to my favorite federally licensed dealer in Maryland and now I am going through that long waiting process.

The Glock 22 is a 40 caliber S&W round and my first .40.  I’ll provide the test and evaluation for you as soon as I get it in two weeks.  For some reason, Marylands’ additional prohibition on the rights of gun owners angered me this time.  I am sick of it.

I am really considering moving for the first time.  Lone Wolf has created a stainless slide with a compensator, a tactical sight and this frame called the Timberwolf, has all the accouterments you would want on a Glock.  I can’t wait to assemble it.

Fitness:  After riding with a train full of candidates for the next Biggest Loser show, I am reminded to get back in the gym.  You local gym/fitness center has probably less people in it now.  You won’t have to wait for a treadmill now so join me in doing at least thirty minutes of cardio plus, three times a week.
